Planning Your Movie Night

A little planning goes a long way toward creating a great outdoor movie experience. Here are a few things to consider as you prepare for movie night.

Space Requirements

Our inflatable screen requires a relatively flat area free of overhead obstacles such as tree branches, power lines, basketball hoops, or other structures.

For the best experience, we recommend a space approximately 20 feet wide by 30–40 feet deep.

The screen is secured using stakes and guide lines, which require additional space around the perimeter. A grassy lawn works best, but driveways, patios, and other flat surfaces can often work as well.

If you’re unsure whether your space is suitable, feel free to send us a photo and we’ll be happy to help.

When Should the Movie Start?

For the best picture quality, we recommend starting movies at or shortly after dusk.

Approximate start times:

  • May–June: 9:30–10:00 PM
  • July: 9:45–10:00 PM
  • August: 9:00–9:30 PM
  • September: 8:00–9:00 PM

The projector can display an image before sunset, but the picture becomes significantly brighter and more enjoyable once ambient light fades.

What’s Included?

Every rental includes:

  • Inflatable movie screen
  • Projector
  • Speaker
  • Streaming device
  • Extension cord
  • All necessary cables

You provide the movie, snacks, seating, and guests.

Seating Ideas

Guests are welcome to use lawn chairs, camping chairs, blankets, bean bags, inflatable loungers, or any combination of seating.

For the best viewing experience, place seating approximately 10–30 feet from the screen depending on group size and personal preference.

Keep the area between the projector and screen clear during the movie, as people walking through the projection path will block the image.

Power Requirements

A standard household outlet is sufficient to operate the equipment.

We provide the necessary extension cords and cables.

Weather Considerations

Outdoor movies are weather dependent.

The screen should not be used during rain, thunderstorms, or high winds. If weather conditions become unsafe, equipment should be powered down and protected from the elements.

If weather becomes a concern before your event, we’ll work with you to discuss available options.

Package Responsibilities

Pickup

You pick up the equipment in Coram, transport it to your event, set everything up, operate the equipment during the movie, and return it after the event.

Most customers spend approximately 30 minutes setting up the screen, projector, audio, and viewing area before guests arrive.

Drop-Off

We’ll deliver and set up the equipment at your event location. Once setup is complete, you’ll be ready to enjoy movie night.

Following the event, customers are responsible for equipment takedown and returning the equipment according to the rental agreement.

Full Setup & Breakdown

We’ll deliver, set up, and return after the event to handle equipment teardown and pickup.

This option provides the most hands-off experience and allows you to focus entirely on your guests.
